String Fields Comparison

This cube sends records to one of the following output ports, based on the comparison of two string values on the record.

The ‘A’ value is read from the field specified by the Field A parameter, and the ‘B’ value is read from the field specified by the Field B parameter. The output ports are:

  • equal : if the constant value and field value are the same
  • unequal : if the constant value and field value are not the same
  • missing : if the record is missing either ‘Field A’ or ‘Field B’ fields

The string comparison can be customized using the parameters listed in the String Comparison Parameters section.

  • Case Sensitive (boolean) : This parameter determines whether the string comparison is case sensitive.
    Default: True
  • CPUs (integer) : The number of CPUs to run this cube with

  • Strip Whitespace (boolean) : This parameter determines whether leading and trailing white spaces are stripped prior to string comparison.
    Default: False

  • Field A (Field Type: String) : The name of the field with the ‘Field A’ values.
  • Field B (Field Type: String) : The name of the field with the ‘Field B’ values.

String Comparison Parameters

  • Case Sensitive (boolean) : This parameter determines whether the string comparison is case sensitive.
    Default: True
  • Strip Whitespace (boolean) : This parameter determines whether leading and trailing white spaces are stripped prior to string comparison.
    Default: False

Parallel String Fields Comparison

The parallel version adds these extra parameters.

  • Number of messages to distribute at a time (integer) : The maximum number of messages to bundle together for a parallel cube.
    Default: 1 Min: 1 Max: 65535
  • Maximum Failures (integer) : The maximum number of times to attempt processing a work item
    Default: 10 Min: 1 Max: 100
  • Autoscale this Cube (boolean) : If True, let Orion manage the parallelism of this Cube
    Default: True
  • Maximum number of Cubes (integer) : The maximum number of concurrently running copies of this Cube
    Default: 1000 Min: 1
  • Minimum number of Cubes (integer) : The minimum number of concurrently running copies of this Cube
    Default: 0
