2025.1.1 Release Notes

User Interface Notes

Analyze Page Spreadsheet

  • An issue has been fixed in the spreadsheet where columns with custom widths were reset to their default widths when pinned or reordered by dragging.

  • The row height can be changed using a click-and-drag motion in the left-most (numbered) column on the spreadsheet.

User Roles

  • New collaborator roles offer simplified UIs without the floe interface. The Collaborator with Search role includes Molecule Search, while the Collaborator role does not.

    • This can be used with currently available collaborator licenses.

    • It primarily disables the ability to run Floes other than those needed for ETL and Import Biomolecule.

Deprecation of Search Services

  • As mentioned in the Orion 2024.3 release, for SaaS customers only, the Molecule-as-a-Service (MaaS) and FastROCS search features will be discontinued shortly and replaced by the upgraded Orion Molecule Search.

  • Orion Molecule Search offers enhanced capabilities that surpass those of MaaS and FastROCS sources. These enhancements include expanded 2D/3D search functions, access to commercially available databases, and ultrafast search results.

Bug Fixes

  • A bug has been fixed that caused preferred 3D settings and “Favorite Folders” information to be reset to default values when the UI is updated.

  • In Molecule Search, the UI and OCLI previously returned different results for structures with hydrogens that were part of a stereocenter because the UI suppressed those hydrogens. The UI now only suppresses incidental, “depiction” hydrogens.

Orion Back End Notes

Note

With this release, Orion back end and other Orion changes of interest to all users are listed in this section, in this manual. Orion Platform changes of interest to Python programmers are summarized in the Orion Programming Guide.

  • Users were experiencing 500 errors due to cache issues. This problem has been fixed.

Information for Programmers

Note

As of 2025.1, the Programming Guide covers only Orion Platform.

Managed Service customers can use the Orion Platform interfaces to develop their own cubes and floes for execution in Orion. They can use the Orion Command-Line Interface (OCLI) to execute operations using the Orion Client facilities. They can also develop and manage Molecule Search databases. For more information, see the Programming Guide.
