2026.2 Release Notes
Release Highlights
Orion now has the ability to create a new molecule from an existing selection in the 3D Viewer. This allows a user to combine two molecules or fragments into one molecule record.
When exporting a dataset from Orion, the export fields are now separated into Molecule Fields, DU Fields (if applicable), and All Other Fields. The available export fields are dependent on the selected file format.
In the Data Handling modal, the primary molecule can be changed to a different molecule if multiple molecule fields are present.
Hyperlinks to floe input datasets have been added to the Details panel under the Jobs Tab.
The number of collections for each project is now listed on the user’s Home page and profile.
It is now possible to change the job name after it has been created.
User Interface Notes
Data Page
A caution icon has been added to indicate that a file has not finished uploading.
3D & Analyze Page
Custom constraints now appear as spheres in the 3D Viewer, rather than circles.
The sphere size of a custom constraint is now labeled.
Molecule Search Page
It is now possible to drop multiple 3D fragments into the Sketcher to create a single, unified 3D search query. This allows chemists to explore scaffold variations or search around missing cores.
Bug Fixes
The Snapshot view on the 3D & Analyze page now works as expected.
When filters were enabled, sometimes a protein would not be displayed after navigating to other pages in the UI, even when the green circle was on. This issue has been fixed.
An issue has been fixed where the Tile View interaction display did not work properly until the 3D Viewer had been visited.
Labels of farther residues are now removed when the distance from the ligand in the binding site is decreased and the binding site is regenerated.
Molecule titles are now shown properly in the Tile View.
The job details now always display the actual value used by a parameter even when it is a value that is unexpected, such as a string instead of an integer.
The performance of uploading large files via the browser has been improved. In addition, an indicator appears in the Data page when a file upload is not complete.
Orion Back End Notes
Note
Orion backend and other Orion changes of interest to all users are listed in this section, in this manual. Orion Platform changes of interest to Python programmers are summarized in the Orion Programming Guide release notes.
An issue has been fixed where the package name was incorrect in the modal to deprecate a package, no matter what package was being deprecated.
Information for Programmers
Note
The Programming Guide covers only Orion Platform.
Managed Service customers can use the Orion Platform interfaces to develop their own cubes and floes for execution in Orion. They can use the Orion Command Line Interface (OCLI) to execute operations using the Orion Client facilities. They can also develop and manage Molecule Search databases. For more information, see the Programming Guide.
