OEAminoAcidType

Attention

This is a preliminary API and may be improved based on user feedback. It is currently available in C++ and Python.

The OEAminoAcidType namespace encodes symbolic constants used as bit-masks to categorize amino-acids.

A monomer such as N-alpha-methyl-L-Alanine (defined with [H:1]N(C)[C@@H](C)C(=O)[OH:2]) belongs to both OEAminoAcidType_Alpha and OEAminoAcidType_AlphaMethylated categories.

The namespace contains the following constants:

Alpha

Standard amino acid where the amino group attached to the alpha-carbon.

AlphaMethylated

Amino acid where a methyl group is attached to alpha-carbon of its backbone.

Beta

Amino amino with amino group attached to the beta-carbon.

BetaMethylated

Amino acid where a methyl group is attached to beta-carbon of its backbone.

Delta

Standard amino acid where the amino group attached to the delta-carbon.

Gamma

Standard amino acid where the amino group attached to the gamma-carbon.

NMethylated

Amino acid where a methyl group is attached to amino group of its backbone.

NotAminoAcid

Indicates monomers that are not amino-acids.
